Established in 1951 by Dr. Rachel Andresen,
YFU is an educational, registered, non-profit organization that prepares young people for their responsibilities and opportunities in a changing, interdependent world.

As one of the oldest and largest exchange organizations in the world, YFU has arranged for more than 200,000 students to live with families overseas.

Today, YFU has programs for high-school and community college students in over 60 countries, run by a network of professional staff and over 2,600 volunteers worldwide.

YFU has an annual participation of approximately 6,000 students and their volunteer host families.
